In this session, I will be sharing my research on this large-format, Illuminated Timurid copy of the Qur'an, which is believed to have been produced in northern India in the 15th century CE. The manuscript opens with a series of Illuminated frontispieces. What you will learn: 1) Understanding the Geometry behind the design and why geometry is important in illumination. 2) Analysing the pattern- where you will learn the concept of breaking down a complex biomorphic pattern into simple design. 3) Students will also learn the traditional methods of how to fill colours in the design. We will try our best to complete the pattern and painting before the class ends and I’ll make sure that you’ve learned everything that you need to know to complete the pattern even after the course. The course is set and designed to be on Saturdays at 3:00-6:00 PM IST and the dates are as follows; February 5, 12, 19, 26 The price is for all the four sessions +recordings and pdfs of the analysis.
